Collection Dates

Garbage - Black Bin:

Every Tuesday
- Collection begins at 7 am.
- Bins can be taken out after 6 pm the evening before collection.
- A standard garbage bin is 240 L, if you have little garbage you can trade it for a 120 L bin at no charge. If you have a lot of garbage you can use our yellow bags or rent a 360 L bin to replace your 240 L bin for $50/year.

 
Recycling – Blue Bin:

Every Tuesday
- Collection begins at 7 am.
- Bins can be taken out after 6 pm the evening before collection.
- A standard bin is 240 L. There is no charge to replace it with a 360 L bin or to get a second 240 L bin.

 
Organic – Brown Bin:

Every Wednesday
- Collection begins at 7 am.
- Bins can be taken out after 6 pm the evening before collection.
- In addition to the brown bin, you can put compost (no plastic and no branches) in boxes or reusable containers like garbage pails. These go beside the brown bin on collection days.

 

Branch Collection:

Thursdays: May 24 – October 25, 2018
- Must call Town Hall or Public Works for pick-up.
- Collection begins at 7 am.
- Branches can be taken out every other Wednesday after 6 pm .

Excess Garbage? Use yellow bags approved by the Town

If your garbage exceeds the capacity of your Town-approved garbage bin, you must use yellow Town-approved bags. These bags are extra-resistant and have the Hampstead logo printed on them. Additional bags are available for purchase at Town Hall or at the Irving L. Adessky Community Centre for $10/package of 10 bags, all taxes included.
