Top Ten Hampstead Accomplishments of the last decade

1. 2014 Centennial Parade and Show – Mayor Denis Coderre, Ginette Reno, Guy Lafleur, the entire Royal Montreal regiment, numerous cultural groups and entertainers from noon to the evening fireworks.

2. Top Beautification honour, 5 Fleurons – Hampstead is the only city on the island to get that award and one of only 11 in the province.
3. Concerts in the Park – Every Tuesday evening, rain or shine – We will have 10 concerts this year and free refreshments. Excellent musical entertainment for all ages.
4. Local tax increases below inflation every year – It is now 12 years and counting.
5. No smoking (tobacco or cannabis) in public – First city in Quebec and second in Canada to protect residents from second hand smoke.
6. House values up dramatically – 26.4% in the last three years. Our home values are second only to Westmount and the gap is narrowing.
7. Hampstead’s first dog run – First in Langhorne Park and now moved to Hampstead Park.
8. One of the best, if not the best, infrastructures on the island – Serious water main breaks virtually eliminated, roads have an average PCI (pavement condition index) of 79% (one of the best scores on the island), etc.
9. Long Term debt down by 52% - Our long term debt level is one of the lowest on the island.
10. Introduced Hampstead’s first Code of Ethics – We were one of the first in the province and shortly thereafter Quebec passed legislation requiring all cities to have one. Ours remains one of the strictest in the province.
