The 14th Hampstead Blood Drive: A remarkable achievement

The 14th annual Town of Hampstead blood drive in conjunction with Héma-Québec was another great success despite having restricted access, by-appointment blood donors.

Our goal was 70 and we achieved 78 donors.

Thank you to everyone who donated blood, the employees of Hampstead and Héma-Quebec. I also wanted to give a huge thanks to the regular donors who make it a point to come every year.

I started this blood drive because the gift of life is what I gave my son 24 years ago when he was born as a Micro-Preemie and required a transfusion. Direct-Donation was not permitted in Quebec at the time and within hours of his birth, I worked with the Red Cross to make it happen. Since then I, along with my family, have been regular donors and forever supporting Héma-Quebec and Fondation Héma-Québec.
