Sewer Rehabilitation Work Underway

AGI Environnement will conduct sewer line rehabilitation work from January 25 to mid-March. The work involved requires flushing the system, televised inspection, and relining sewer lines. The streets affected are:

  • Applewood  (between Netherwood Cres. and Belsize Rd.)
  • Lyncroft  (between Merton Cres. and Hampstead Rd.)
  • Thurlow  (between Stratford and Merton Rd.)
  • Fleet   (between Pinedale Ave. and Queen Mary)
  • Ferncroft  (between Cleve Rd. and Dufferin)

The contractor will distribute door hangers and letters to affect residents as to when they will be working in your area.

The work will be scheduled between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. During that time affected residents must avoid all water evacuation (through the use of toilets, showers, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.). Any evacuation of water could result in sewer backup and damage to the work.

Depending on the state of your plumbing, it is possible that there may be an odor. Do not worry, the odor is not harmful and will dissipate gradually on its own.

Please ensure that there is water in your “P trap” as well as your floor drains, in order to isolate the odor from the street’s main line.

The rehabilitation technique does not require excavation, street closures or water service interruptions, while it allows the town to increase the life of the sewer lines.

Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
