Recycling Collection Resumes Tuesday, June 26

The Town of Hampstead is happy to inform you that the recycling collection should resume Tuesday, June 26, as per normal.

The June 19 collection was interrupted due to equipment failure at the St-Michel collection centre, and recycling was not collected in the Fleet/Netherwood/Wexford sector.

Since then, Montreal’s Environment Department has made arrangements for recycling trucks to dump at the Chateauguay recycling centre.

In order to assist residents whose recycling was not collected earlier this week, the contractor has agreed to pick-up excess recycling materials in the clear biodegradable plastic bags provided by the town. Simply leave the bags on the ground beside your blue bin Monday night after 6:00 pm.

Please note that this is a one-time solution for excess recycling materials, and plastic bags left out beside recycling bins will not be collected in the future.

As Tuesday is also the collection day for garbage, we strongly suggest that you place the recycling bin on one side of the driveway and the garbage bin on the opposite side.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for your cooperation.
