Registration on the list of electors
Electors domiciled in the territory of the Town of Hampstead are automatically entered on the list of electors and may exercise their right to vote if they are qualified as an elector in accordance with the specific requirements of the Law.

Owners who are not domiciled in the territory of Hamsptead may be entered on the list of electors only if they request so. They must complete and sign a form to this effect, according to whether they are owners of an immovable or occupants of a business establishment located in the municipality or whether they are undivided co-owners of an immovable or co-occupants of a business establishment located in the municipality of Hampstead.

Who is eligible to vote?
Only those persons who are entered on the list of electors of the Town of Hampstead shall have the right to vote on November 5, 2017.

To be a registered voter, you must meet the following requirements as of September 1st, 2017:
• Be a physical person;
• Be of legal age (in this particular case, as of November 5th, 2017);
• Be a Canadian citizen;
• Not be a case of inability to vote under the law (under curatorship or guilty of an offence of corrupt electoral practice);
• Fill one of the following conditions:
o Be domiciled in the municipality of Hampstead and, for at least six months, in the province of Quebec;
o Be, for at least the last twelve months, the owner of an immovable or the occupant of a business establishment located in the municipality of Hampstead.

Revision of the list of electors

In October 2017, you will receive by mail a notice of registration on the list of electors. Read it carefully. This notice shall indicate the names of the electors entered at your address, the place where the board of revisors will be located, and the address of the polling station where you will be required to vote.

Keep your registration notice carefully; it will help to speed up the voting process!
If you do not receive a notice of registration or if corrections are required, you will have to appear before the board of revisors to apply for entry, correction or stricking off the list of electors. It is important to verify this information since you must be entered on the list of electors in order to vote.
